Reflections are fun but difficult to paint - definitely a test of intelligence. The elephant would probably do better.

I just loved the photo and it gave me a new colour palette to work on.
If there is an afterlife, I want it to be swimming with the fish in tropical waters.
I received a commission out of the blue to do three paintings for an Army Officers’ Mess. Afghanistan – with nothing military. This was what I came up with. It has bits of map grafted into the rocks and opium poppies in the foreground. I gave it this title as the troops are coming home this year. They loved it.
This was inspired by a photo I took from the top of a bus in Marrakech. I had fun with the textures and the Arabic writing.
Lots of texture in this one. I love dereliction!
