Ink and Bleach – A fun technique, using permanent and washable ink for filling pens, (not acrylic). Paint it on in bands, squirt some water, maybe sprinkle a little salt and leave to dry. Then paint with thin bleach. Use brushes, sponges, whatever you have. Finally add a tiny touch of acrylic colour.

African Rock Art

Rock art was painted at different times in history by the San Bushmen in various sites in South Africa, especially in the Cederberg and Drakensberg mountains.  Some of it is more than 2000 years old. These are not slavish reproductions of original paintings, but they imitate the style.  Although I have enjoyed using some artist’s license here, hopefully the figures bear some resemblance to the original pictures before they became weathered and faded.

Ele-vation

Another long-legged elephant.  I did some on small canvases and some that were about 3′ long.  They are all embellished with metallic paints and pens.

Ele-gance

This was one of many elephants that I did during my wacky phase!  All sold now but I would love to do some more.
